Hi everyone –
We had a great day on Friday Sept. 21 at Idea Festival in Louisville, KY hanging out with Chris Cprek and Brad Luyster from the LVL1 Hackerspace group. They had 5 Makerbot Replicators going and we were able to talk to people from the conference all day about 3D printing – how it’s done, why it’s cool, and the possible ramifications of what the popularity of it might mean for the way we live. Most of the crowd had never even seen a 3D printer before, so it was fun seeing their excitement as they saw objects being printed right before their eyes!
We brought some of the prints from The Open Crowd Project and they were a big hit with people of all ages at the conference. It was great to talk to so many people from different backgrounds about The Open Crowd Project. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing a lot of submissions for 3D prints this week!
Here’s the setup of Makerbots, with Chris Cprek of LVL1 standing to the far left.
That’s it for now, so thanks again for your continued interest in The Open Crowd Project!
